New Live Action ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Film Coming In 2011

IGN is reporting that Mirage Group is fast tracking a new live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles motion picture for release in 2011. Rumor has it that this film will not be a sequel to the mostly successful 1990s films. Instead it will be an origin story of everybody’s favorite sewer dwelling pizza eating reptiles.
It looks like Galen Walker, who produced the 2007 CG big screen Turtles film TMNT, is onboard for the project as well.
Galen says that the film will draw and remain true to the spirit of the original comics and will use face replacement technology, which will allow the turtles to be much more expressive and real than in the previous live action films.
“The original dozen comics created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are some of the best source material one could hope for,” Galen said.
