Fox Confirms ‘Deadpool’ Spinoff

After X-Men Origins: Wolverine hit blockbuster status last weekend by pulling in $160 million worldwide Fox is looking to capitalize. Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed that X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds will be given his own spinoff as the Marvel Comic’s mercenary antihero Deadpool.
Mr. Scarlett Johansson, will once again star as the wisecracking smartass Wade Wilson who is cured of cancer by implementing a regenerative healing factor extracted from Wolverine.
There are also a few other X-Men spinoffs in the Marvel pipe line including X-Men Origins: Magneto and X-Men: First Class, which is being written by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz.
Honestly, I don’t really want to see this film after what they did to him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He was more Mimic than Deadpool and it made no sense. I would much rather see a Gambit spinoff than this tripe.
