New Clips from J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek’
By: Eddie Jenkins
I have never been able to watch an entire Star Trek episode or film because they bored me to death. However when I saw the first non-teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel I was—for the first time—excited about something Star that wasn’t Wars. Every piece of footage that has hit the Web has only furthered my want to see this film. Who knows if it is as good as I think it is going to be I might become a full-fledged Trekkie and attempt to watch the show and other films for the first time since I was a child.
Even though this film looks to be a winner I am unsure whether it will do well or not simply because of the the film releases it is getting mixed in with. X-Men Origins: Wolverine premieres May 1, Terminator Slavation premieres May 21 and Star Trek hits theaters May 8. One of these films is more than likely going to end up like The Chronicles of Narnia:Prince Caspian did last year when it was sandwiched between Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
